Medicaid Re-enrollment Application Deadline This Friday

By Marissa Machado posted Jun 14,2016 09:13 AM

The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) issued a reminder on Medicaid re-enrollment today. Time is running out, so If you have any questions please email DADS at Texas.Medicaid.Enrollment@dads.state.tx.us today!

 DADS Provider Alert:

Submit your Medicaid re-enrollment application on or before June 17, 2016, if you have not already done so, if you want to make sure you remain enrolled in Texas Medicaid on Sept. 25, 2016.

If your application is submitted after June 17, 2016, Texas Medicaid can't guarantee that it will be processed and revalidated before Sept. 25, 2016 deadline, which means you will be dis-enrolled from Texas Medicaid.

Why Do I Need to Re-Enroll?

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) requires state Medicaid agencies to revalidate the enrollment of all state Medicaid program providers. The original deadline of March 24, 2016, was extended by CMS to allow states additional time to process provider applications. For Texas Medicaid, this means all providers who have not met all PPACA revalidation requirements must do so through re-enrollment before Sept. 25, 2016.

Providers Required to Re-enroll:

DADS Medicaid LTSS providers must enroll or re-enroll in one of two ways:

Providers who bill, or intend to bill, for acute care services through the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP), must enroll or re-enroll through TMHP.

Providers who do not bill, or intend to bill, for acute care services through TMHP and have an active Medicaid contract with DADS must enroll or re-enroll through DADS.

Questions about the DADS Medicaid LTSS Provider Enrollment/Re-enrollment process can be emailed to Texas.Medicaid.Enrollment@dads.state.tx.us.

Information for Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MCO) LTSS Providers:

There is a separate enrollment process for Medicaid MCO LTSS providers who bill MCOs, do not have an active Texas Provider Identifier (TPI) for the same provider type to bill TMHP for acute care services, and do not have an active DADS Medicaid contract. These providers are required to re-enroll through the HHSC Medicaid/CHIP Division (MCD) MCO LTSS provider re-enrollment process and must contact the HHSC MCD MCO LTSS Provider Re-enrollment mailbox at MCO_LTSS_Provider_Re-Enrollment@hhsc.state.tx.us to request the HHSC MCD MCO LTSS Provider Re-enrollment application and additional information about the MCO LTSS Provider Re-enrollment process.
