Coronavirus Disease, COVID-19, was first discovered in China in December of 2019 in a cluster of pneumonia cases. This novel virus is continuing to spread around the world and the mitigation strategies are becoming increasingly aggressive to mitigate its spread. As with any other newly identified virus there is much to learn about the disease process, mode of transmission, incubation period, symptoms, and treatment.

At this point in time the home care and hospice care industry should be well into their disaster preparedness plan implementation.  Communication and implementation of your pandemic plan should be occurring on a daily basis with your staff.  The home care and hospice care practice is dependent on personnel, so up to date information and training is essential. We will delve into the latest information on COVID-19 and the implications for home care and hospice.

We will discuss:

  • latest CDC guidelines
  • current status of the disease
