Two significant regulations were promulgated on the same day, November 4, 202 by CMS and OSHA mandating COVID-19 vaccination. This is no coincidence. This will make the second OSHA emergency temporary standard in less than 6 months. In many situations, these new requirements will become an issue on a much broader scale for such a mandate- state versus federal rights. The federal guidance has allowed for religious and medical exemptions while some states have invalidated religious exemptions. This preliminary session will focus on the guidance and issues for home care and hospice providers in preparation for a two part mandatory phase in with final date 1/4/2022 that has the potential to impact reimbursement.
