March on Washington

Monday, March 6 - Thursday, March 9, 2017

The annual March on Washington is on for March 6-March 9, 2017!

With a new administration, a new Congress, and a new legislative agenda, it is critical to reach out to our representatives about the policy priorities of home care & hospice. Please amplify the grassroots voice of home care & hospice in Texas by joining your fellow members in our nation's capital. We look forward to advocating for home care & hospice policy priorities, meeting Members of Congress, networking, and seeing the sites!

Monday, March 6, 6:30pm: Briefing to review the visit agenda, talking points, and current legislation at the office of Akin Gump at 1333 New Hampshire Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036
Tuesday, March 7, 9am-5pm: Legislative visits on Capitol Hill.
Tuesday, March 7, 11:30pm-12:30pm: *Updated* Optional fundraiser with Rep Michael Burgess, MD (R-26-Lewisville). If interested in attending this fundraiser, please email
Wednesday, March 8, 9am-5pm: Legislative visits on Capitol Hill.
Thursday, March 9, 9am-2pm: Legislative visits on Capitol Hill.

Draft schedules of legislative visits will be available to registrants regularly, but please keep in mind the schedule is fluid and the visit times are subject to change based on a variety of factors. There will likely be optional fundraiser event on Wednesday or Tuesday evening. Bring comfortable shoes and a warm jacket!

All materials will be printed and ready for you at the briefing. Here they are electronically here:
1. 2017 Federal Priorities
2. About Home Care
3. About Hospice
4. Reasons Against Pre-Claim Review
5. Congressional Sign-on Letter on Home Health Prior Authorization
6. State Coalition Letter on PCR June 2016
7. State Coalition Letter on PCR September 2016

Members must make their own travel arrangements to DC. Typically advocates arrive Monday and leave Thursday afternoon. Reagan airport is considered more convenient than Dulles airport.

We recommend staying close to Capitol Hill. It is advised to check homestay and travel websites for the best deals. For hotels, we suggest Capital Hill Hotel, The Liaison, Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill, and The Mayflower Autograph Collection.
