Webinar: Employment Law: DOL Updates and COVID-19

Tommy Simmons will discuss the ways in which the Covid-19 pandemic has altered the landscape of wage and hour law and of other important employment law programs, such as EEOC issues and unemployment claims. He will highlight the FFCRA and the CARES Act and how workplace health and safety standards have changed to fit the times. Finally, he will cover the most frequent wage and hour law problems that are confronting employers now.

William T. (Tommy) Simmons serves as legal counsel for the Commissioner representing employers at the Texas Workforce Commission, where he advises the Commissioner on final-level unemployment and wage claim appeals, assists business groups with employment-related legislation, and counsels employers on Texas and federal employment laws. He is the author of the book Especially for Texas Employers and is also the editor of the Employment Law Handbook of the Texas Association of Business.
