ICD-10 Coding
Thursday, April 22, 2021 |  8:30am-4:30 pm CST

Change is the name of the coding game and 2021 is no different! We have new guidance, new codes and guidelines effective January 1 for COVID, PLUS changes to our home health payment system.  This class will include the following:

The first hour will start with an explanation of diagnosis coding in PDGM, the impact of the primary diagnosis and comorbidities on payment calculation and claim submission, and how home health agencies can avoid problems in this area. The new no-pay RAP has changed how we understand coding and its impact on the OASIS and claim.

Home health and hospice coding practice, F2F issues, and common misunderstandings will be clarified with plenty of scenarios and tools to increase accuracy.

Lack of training leads to denials, up-coding or down-coding, potentially resulting in decreased cash flow. Increase your coding knowledge and understanding and gain the expertise your agency needs to survive the 2021 changes. With government auditors targeting home care, now is the time to ensure that you are coding correctly and protecting your revenue.

OASIS
Friday, April 23, 2021  |  8:30am-4:30 pm CST

OASIS-D1 Accuracy Training is a 1-day, 6.5 hour crash-course workshop designed to update clinicians on the most current OASIS-D1 information, with a focus on assessment strategies and guidance tips for accurate data collection and response selection. While not all OASIS items will be covered, it will address items used for reimbursement and quality measurement, the GG items, and items that have presented problems for clinicians in the past. It will also review the impact of the Public Health Emergency waivers on OASIS data collection.

This workshop will provide you with the latest key OASIS-D1 resources and references in electronic format that you can use after the workshop to maintain a current, comprehensive knowledge of OASIS. This workshop is presented by Teresa Northcutt from Selman-Holman & Associates, an expert instructor who has earned the Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) designation. Teresa uses her years of home health experience to illustrate concepts and guide you easily through application scenarios that are typical for home care patients.
