Current and future TAHC&H advocates should check out the new advocacy sites on tahch.org! Under the advocacy tab, you will find our action alerts, a complete overview of state and federal industry policy issues, and the newly released advocate toolkit! As we grow our network of grassroots advocates across Texas, we encourage members to please sign up and spread the word to co-workers to do the same!
Once a TAHC&H advocate, here are some easy steps to put advocacy in action:
1) Sign up for email newsletters from public officials and candidate campaigns. Start with with our governor here, then find the websites for your local officials to sign up for theirs.
2) Attend TAHC&H advocacy events like March on Washington!
3) Watch this free webinar by the Congressional Management Foundation to learn how to have an effective meeting with an office holder.
4) Reach out to the offices of your state representative, state senator and federal representative. Call their district office near you, introduce yourself as a constituent and offer to be a resource on health care issues.
5) Follow your legislators on Twitter and Facebook (also @TAHCH and @TAHCH_PAC)! Retweet any pro home health tweets! #goodjob
