Help get co-sponsors for the Home Health Documentation and Program Improvement Act of 2017! Members of Congress from Texas who have already agreed to sign-on as co-sponsors to the bill include: Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Lewisville), Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo), Rep. Sam Johnson (R-Flower Mound), and Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Amarillo).

This legislation, H.R. 2663, would reform the Face-to-Face rule by removing the subjective component of physician documentation. The bill would also give the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) an opportunity to address the years long backlog of Face-to-Face appeals.

Call your Member of Congress today to co-sponsor H.R. 2663! Simply input your information and our action alert center will give you the legislative office contact information and talking points.

The bill is especially in need of Democratic support to ensure that it stays bipartisan. The Texas Association for Home Care & Hospice has been working with Congress on our industry's longstanding priority to find an acceptable solution to the requirements developed and administered by CMS for a physician to have Face-to-Face encounter with a home health patient. The current interpretation by CMS is placing burdens on providers, creating an unnecessary backlog of appeals and significantly limiting patient access.

Please make a call today even if you do not provide services through Medicare. We must work together as an industry to support Congressman Marchant's efforts to pass this legislation as soon as possible!
