Webinar: RN Delegation For Home And Community Support Services Agencies (HCSSA)

When:  Jun 18, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM (CT)

Both HCSSA administrators and registered nurses are often confused by the regulatory compliance requirements for delegation by a registered nurse in the varied settings where home care is delivered. This presentation will provide definitions, resources, examples and toolbox documents to assist in demystifying RN Delegation regulations in the home care setting.

This course is appropriate for administrators and supervisors at all experience levels and with all categories of HCSSA licensure.

Learning Objectives

The participant will be able to:

1.       Define the relevant terms associated with RN delegation in the home care setting for home and community support services agencies including home health, hospice, and personal assistance services.

2.       Describe the five “Rights of RN Delegation” as developed by the American Nurses Association (task, circumstance, person, supervision, and direction/communication)

3.       Describe when RN delegation is required.

4.       Discuss the difference between RN delegation/supervision in an agency licensed to provide personal assistance services, which is regulatory compliant, and the prohibited practice of nursing in a personal assistance services agency.

This course is appropriate for administrators at all experience levels and with all categories of HCSSA licensure.
