Our Texas Homecare & Hospice PAC is hosting a fundraiser for Congressman Michael Burgess, M.D. (R-26-Lewisville) during our March on Washington. Our PAC Council chose Dr. Burgess at the February meeting due to his long history of support for home care & hospice and with consideration to his new Chairmanship on the Health Subcommittee for the Energy & Commerce Committee with jurisdiction over Medicare. He will be involved in many decisions as changes to the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid block grants are considered in Congress, so it is important to maintain a good relationship with the Congressman.
More must be raised for this fundraiser to be a success! $8,500 has been raised already thanks to pledges from our PAC, NAHC, the LHC Group, Marcylle Combs of FMS, Ken Cargle of Goodcare Health Services, Ronnie & Dana Madison of Calvert Home Health, Bill Carlson of IMS Home Health, Jennie Baird of Angels at Home, and the Akin Gump PAC.
