Action alert: Support EVV Relief in SB 894

An action alert has been added to the TAHC&H action alert center! Support community care in Texas by making a few calls in support of SB 894 today.

Please call members of the House Calendars Committee to ask them to schedule a vote for C.S.S.B. 894, authored by Sen. Dawn Buckingham (R-Austin) and sponsored by Rep. Sergio Munoz (D-Palmview) in the House.

The legislation, SB 894, is one of the only chances left that addresses administrative burdens for providers complying with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV). The bill is now sitting in the House Calendars Committee waiting to be scheduled for a vote on the House floor. The bill calls for standardizing compliance requirements across managed care, considering administrative burdens placed on providers, considering emerging internet-based and GPS technologies, and establishing a workgroup for stakeholder input.

93 calls have been placed so far!  Even if you are not a provider of community care services, standing together as an industry is critical to the future of health care at home. With only 11 days left in the Texas legislative session, please know that we will likely not have another chance to support legislation with reforms to EVV for another two years.

Your grassroots advocacy is paying off. Please make calls today and forward this alert to your coworkers and family using the TAHC&H action alert center!
