Urgent: Call State Reps to Support HB 25!

By Elyse Fulton posted Jul 27,2017 03:09 PM

There is now traction in the Texas Legislature to address drastic cuts to the Medicaid therapy program made in 2015. Even though partial restorations were made in the most recent general session, the restorations will likely go unrealized due to proposed policy changes. These threats have already driven providers out of business and begun to impact network adequacy for fragile children.

Leaders in the Texas House of Representatives are ready to act to protect critical Medicaid therapy services. State Representative Sarah Davis (R-West University Place) has introduced HB 25, legislation which would reverse therapy cuts and passed out of committee unanimously.

Even if you are not a provider of Medicaid therapy, please stand together for the home care industry and call your State Representative today to co-sponsor HB 25 and protect fragile children!

We must now get the support of 100 House members in order to encourage Governor Abbott to add Medicaid therapy to the call for special session. As of right now, this bill will NOT go any further than the House unless the Governor acts.

We must garner enough support by as early as Sunday. Please support your fellow providers using our action center today and feel free to pass along this message to colleagues or others in the home care industry.
