Webinar: Aiming High: Hot Topics in Coding and OASIS

When:  Mar 25, 2026 from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM (CT)

Join us for an in depth one day class on Home Care Coding and OASIS E1/E2 Hot Topics—fully updated to include the April 1, 2026 ICD 10 CM and OASIS revisions. This course is designed for home health professionals who need to maintain coding accuracy, support compliant documentation, and stay aligned with the most recent CMS guidance impacting PDGM, all payer submissions, risk adjustment, and OASIS related Value Based Purchasing (VBP). We’ll cover the ICD 10 CM April 1 coding update, which—while adding no new diagnosis codes—includes multiple instructional note changes throughout the code set, such as revisions from Excludes1 to Excludes2 and updates to coding instructions that directly affect sequencing and denial risk. The course also addresses the OASIS updates effective April 1, 2026, including the removal of O0350 (COVID 19 vaccination status), the removal of several SDOH items, and new elements introduced as part of the transition toward OASIS E2.

Attendees will:

  • Explain the April 1 ICD 10 CM updates and how instructional note changes influence code selection and reimbursement.
  • Review the April 1 OASIS updates, including removed items, revised items, and new data elements tied to E1→E2 transition requirements.
  • Strengthen their understanding of PDGM and how coding and OASIS documentation drive case mix, risk adjustment, and audit exposure.
  • Learn updated all payer submission rules and practical compliance best practices.
  • Discuss OASIS related VBP changes and how assessment accuracy influences performance scores.
  • Identify common problem areas in coding and documentation that contribute to denials or inaccurate risk adjustment—and learn how to correct the items in coding and documentation to improve accuracy and reduce denials.

This is a valuable opportunity to sharpen your coding expertise and navigate the complexities of home care regulations and OASIS guidance with confidence!
