Action alert: Support needed for Face-to-Face legislation

By Elyse Fulton posted Jul 20,2017 03:36 PM

There are only two weeks left for Members of Congress to sign-on to co-sponsor the Home Health Documentation and Program Improvement Act before the August recess. We need bipartisan support for this critical legislation to be successful!

This legislation, H.R. 2663, will reform the Face-to-Face documentation requirements and address the claims backlog. The following Members of Congress from Texas have already committed to co-sponsor the bill: Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-Dallas), Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-Amarillo), Rep. Sam Johnson (R-Plano), Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Dallas), Rep. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land).

Please make a call or write a message today to ask your U.S. Representative to support this critical piece of legislation!

Even if your agency does not provide services through Medicare, please take action to stand together as a unified home care industry. Fixing Face-to-Face has been a longstanding industry priority - now is our chance!

The Texas Association for Home Care & Hospice has been working with Congress on our industry's longstanding priority to find an acceptable solution to the requirements developed and administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for a physician to have Face-to-Face encounter with a home health patient. The current interpretation by CMS is placing burdens on providers, creating an unnecessary backlog of appeals and significantly limiting patient access.

Let's support Congressman Marchant's efforts to pass this legislation. Please ask your U.S. Representative to support H.R. 2663 using our action center today!
